Background

A leading financial services FTSE250 firm required a full review of their central functions technology in order to provide visibility across a federated business structure, as part of a move to bring technology under a more efficient and effective group service model.

Challenge

Having gone through a group-wide re-structure and subsequent IPO, our client required a sensitive cross-functional IT review as part of the creation of a group IT service function across legacy organizations that included Finance, HR, Risk and Marketing.

Solution

We provided an experienced consulting team to gather early stage requirements covering multiple business units covering; OD, Security, Information Management, Business Resilience, Technology Strategy and Optimization, IT Governance Risk Compliance and Business Change. The full review documented all aspects of technology, identifying and confirming key risk exposures, together we made a recommendation on moving forward with each functional technology in support of a product aligned strategy.

Outcome

Our outputs provided the Group CIO and Ex Co with a clear “As is” review, and a foundation to deliver strategic optimization over a 2 year period. This will lead to significant cost savings not only through a refined operating model, but also greater transparency on proposed functional technology projects.
