A rapidly scaling technology-focused insurance broker was looking to take basic end-to-end IT design principles and bring these to life to deliver a master data strategy. The significant technological efficiencies would challenge and deliver commercial benefits to all aspects of the supply chain internally and externally.
Challenge
A greenfield project that needed to move at a significant pace, whilst balancing third-party vendors and advisors to achieve key milestones. The complex requirements of the early design required a technical design authority and product lead to coordinate the initial requirements of establishing a data store, data lake, front office trading platform, CRM and the applications required to bring these together through advanced development and testing.
Solution
ECMS provided a small agile team of experienced industry-leading consultants to take early-stage design principles, and turn these into business requirements. Focusing on core aspects of the build this was delivered against an agile methodology with rapid development and testing at each stage. The data flows required complex ETL development and advanced API connectivity, with additional secure access requirements. The rapid scale of implementation required a managed resource team to deliver specific aspects of each programme, with experience across a number of cloud applications.
Outcome
The outputs provided the board with the foundations of an MDM data lake platform, for the broking business to achieve key milestones to allow placement and data management, on the way to building a global business across multiple insurance lines. This allowed subsequent ERP HR/Finance systems deployment, and an API enabled architecture for future application deployment.
